Masa Kolonisi

Masa Kolonisi is a 3D ant colony game set in a glass box on a desk. The name is Turkish for "desk colony". You begin with a queen and a handful of worker ants in a single glass module, and from there the colony is yours to grow. You feed the ants, dig to widen the nest and connect new modules when space runs short, and over time the colony spreads from one box into a chain of linked glass containers across the tabletop.

A formicarium is a glass nest that people build to watch an ant colony up close, with the tunnels and chambers visible through the walls. Masa Kolonisi takes that idea and makes it modular. Instead of one fixed container, the nest grows piece by piece as you add modules, so the shape the colony takes on the desk is the result of your own decisions about when and where to expand.

It is a calm management game from our studio, built with three.js. There is no opponent to race and nothing rushes you, so you play at your own pace. Progress comes from keeping the colony fed and giving it room to grow. The camera can be turned and zoomed freely, which lets you look into every corner of the formicarium, follow the workers through the glass and see where the colony is getting crowded.

A few practical tips. Think about feeding, digging and new modules together, because as the colony grows the nest has to grow with it. Turn and zoom the camera often: what is happening inside the glass boxes is easiest to read from close up, and that is also how you notice where the ants are gathering. On a phone or tablet, hold the device sideways, since the game is made for a landscape screen.

Masa Kolonisi is a single-player game that runs in the browser on computers, phones and tablets, with nothing to download or install. Your progress is saved in the browser, and to your Benerits account when you are signed in. It suits players who enjoy slow, observational management games, and anyone who has wanted to keep an ant farm without setting one up at home.
